Rodrygo started his career when he was at the age of 10. He joined Santos youth setup in the year 2011, initially assigned to the futsal team. Rodrygo with the first team regulars in Peru for Copa Libertadores match against Sporting Cristal in March 2017, he was called up to the first team by manager Dorival Junior to complete the training. He signed his first professional contract on 21 July 2017 after agreeing to a five year deal. Rodrygo was later promoted to the main squad by interim manager named “Elano”. He made his first team debut on 4 November 2017 in Serie A. He was substituted for Bruno Henrique in a 3-1 home win against Ponte Preta. Rodrygo changed his jersey number from 43 to 9 on 26 July 2018. Later, he again switched number to jersey 11 for the 2019 campaign which was previously worn by his fellow youth graduate “Neymar”. 

Rodrygo made huge after signing a contract with the famous Spanish club named “Real Madrid” on 15 June 2018. He signed a contract until 2025. It has been rumoured that Rodrygo was signed with a high fee of 45 Million Euro with Santos receiving almost 40 Million Euro as the club owned 80%of his rights. He made his first debut match and scored his first league goal against the famous club named “Osasuna” within a short minute on 26 September 2019. He scored his first hat-trick, being a perfect hat-trick, and gave an assist for the club on 6 November, aged 18 years and 301 days old. Rodrygo is also the second youngest player ever to score a hatrick in the competition. Rodrygo is also the first and only player to be born in the 21st century to score in the tournament. He has made 19 appearances in his first season while scoring two goals during the league season, as Real Madrid won the 2019-20 La Liga. 

International Career: 

Rodrygo started his international career on 30 March 2017 when he was called up to the Brazil U-17 for the year’s Montaigu Tournament. Rodrygo made his first debut in the championship and played a match against Denmark where he scored his side’s only goal. He has also scored two goals against Cameroon and United States. Rodrygo was signed for the first time to the Brazil senior team in November 2019 for the Superclasico de las Americas against rivals Argentina which was held in Saudi Arabia.
